FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND EVERY DAY OF PRIMARY RECRUITMENT?
It is strongly encouraged that all potential new members attend all recruitment events. In addition, you MUST attend one of the information night meetings in order to participate in formal recruitment. For each round, it is important that you attend so you have the opportunity to have conversations with a sorority. Some chapters may not ask you back if you miss their round.
IS THERE A GPA REQUIREMENT TO GO THROUGH RECRUITMENT?
Although Panhellenic does not require a specific grade point average (GPA) to participate in formal recruitment, each sorority has a minimum grade requirement to be eligible for membership. Every sorority strives to maintain a high chapter grade point average (GPA), therefore each must consider a woman’s ability to adhere to the chapter's scholastic standards. It is HIGHLY recommended that women participating in formal recruitment have at or above a 2.5 cumulative high school or college GPA at the time they are seeking membership.
WHAT ARE THE FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS?
Formal recruitment registration costs $25 and covers XX.
Each of our organizations carries financial obligations. Dues are assessed according to each sorority. On campus, those costs range from $352.00 to $613.00 each semester. Typically, the first semester of membership tends to be the most expensive as there are often one-time initiation fees.
Many Panhellenic women pay for their own dues by working throughout the school year or having a summer job! To help with financial obligations, many organizations offer different payment options that may include payment plans and scholarships.
